Missing from Art in Action, Waterperry House, Oxfordshire…Sunday 17 July.
Jackie Devereux’s Mediterranean Sketchbook/journal
Would the lady who obviously ‘couldn’t live without’ my personal sketchbook which was seen disappearing from my display table and entering her large bag on Sunday 17 July, please return it to me.
This book forms part of my personal collection of sketchbooks; they contain my thoughts, notes, souvenirs and sketches which form an integral and very important part of my artistic development, these are constantly referred to and I openly share with people whilst teaching and demonstrating.
I would not sell or give them away!
Description: .....Small black hardback book 40x40cm with an embossed ‘cockerell’ on the rear, and has a brightly coloured loose wrap -around watercolour cover, and is similar to those in the photo below.
It contains line and wash architectural and character sketches variously around Italy and Greece, and other places in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Art in Action festival each year prides itself for its openness, and a loss of this kind is a very, very rare occurrence during these events, and I am sure the person concerned can appreciate that this item has no value other than to myself.
Whilst I am flattered that it was considered worth taking, I am also very sad and it leaves a gaping hole in my collection.

As President of the Society of Graphic Fine Art, I am always amazed at the talent out there. In this our 97th year as a Society, this latest current Open Exhibition displays work of Members alongside that of non-members from our open entry, and with fabulous work beautifully curated, we are going from strength to strength. With over 230 exhibits, a huge variety of subject matter and media, as a Society we are happy to be flying the flag for drawing at its very best............
