"Sketches, glazes and more..."

My latest exhibition with the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists (SEAW) at the Babylon Gallery in Ely, Cambridgeshire was as always an exciting event, and has now ended.

I won first prize in the show with ‘Winter, Fenland’, so I was really happy with that. It was one of my exploratory pieces, 3D ink, water and thread (see here).

My work destined for the Society of Graphic Fine Art is currently on show in THE GALLERY HOLT, in the centre of Holt, a pretty Norfolk town, and is on until 14 November.
The Private View is Friday 3 November.

On now with planning today for the rest of this year’s courses and workshops and looking ahead to those events in 2024.

Meanwhile, I am exploring further my quest to strengthen my bond with the most basic shapes and forms with imaginary bowls, based on reality but somewhat altered.

Exploring glazing with transparent colours, the strength and hidden depth of watercolour, shapes and revelations, I am loving the journey, wherever it takes me, it is a total voyage of discovery.

Speaking of which, my husband and I have been revisiting Scotland, exploring once again the beauty of the landscape interpreted it in a totally different way. I sketched my way around the lochs and glens, the fabulous autumn colours being the main focus which intensified throughout the journey which was an absolute joy.

Now back in the studio I shall be excited to see what emerges on paper as I dip into my sketchbook and explore once again - this is the really exciting bit!

Future Courses

Missenden Abbey, Buckinghamshire.......
Coming up on 24,25,26 November 2023

- an exploratory 3-day workshop into watercolour and ink, taking a look at previous work which may not have worked to one’s satisfaction, delving further into the exciting watercolour medium to see whether we can discover the beauty within. Also we shall create more experimental work, gaining courage and confidence, with an ultimately optional extra to create 3D items on paper, for example stunning origami boxes, beads, calendars, as well as book covers and anything else that comes to mind!
Why not join me for some fun and games on paper...

Enjoy your onward journey
